Tom is the founder and director of Alchemy Plumbing & Gas, bringing over 20 years of plumbing and gasfitting experience to the business. Having also worked abroad, he has developed a broad range of skills and knowledge that help shape the high standards Alchemy is known for today.

Tom established Alchemy with a focus on quality workmanship, reliable service, and building a trusted reputation throughout Hawke’s Bay. He works closely with the team across plumbing, gasfitting, heating systems, renovations, and complex installations, with a strong interest in modern, energy-efficient systems that improve home heating, comfort, and efficiency. Outside of work, Tom enjoys fishing, DJing, and travelling.

Originally from Kairakau Beach, Luke returned to his Hawke’s Bay roots after spending time working in Wellington. With over 10 years of industry experience, he plays a key role at Alchemy Plumbing & Gas, leading many of our renovation projects.

Luke brings extensive knowledge in gas fitting and plumbing, along with a practical, solutions-focused approach to every job. Outside of work, he’s a family man who enjoys spending time fishing along the Hawke’s Bay coast.

Originally from South Africa and now a proud New Zealand citizen, Leclue has become a valued member of the Alchemy Plumbing & Gas team. With extensive experience in maintenance plumbing and drainlaying, he brings a wide range of practical skills and a strong focus on customer service to every job.

Based in Central Hawke’s Bay, Erin joined Alchemy Plumbing & Gas 18 months ago and quickly became the backbone of our day-to-day operations. She manages administration, job scheduling, and keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes while continually improving systems and helping track team performance.

Erin is fantastic with clients, providing outstanding customer service and creating a welcoming, trusted experience from the very first phone call. Known for her humour, positivity, and upbeat attitude, she keeps the whole team organised — and even manages to keep Tom in line. Outside of work, Erin enjoys camping and spending time with family and friends.

Originally from Palmerston North, Ben is the newest member of the Alchemy Plumbing & Gas team. He brings a strong work ethic and has quickly proven himself on renovation projects, fire installations, and the more labour-intensive jobs that require both skill and stamina.

Very fit and highly driven, Ben approaches every job with determination and pride in his work. He’s a great fit with the team and we’re really happy to have him on board, looking forward to seeing him continue to grow through his apprenticeship and career with Alchemy. Outside of plumbing, Ben is a dedicated father to two boys and competes professionally in Muay Thai, bringing that same discipline and focus into everything he does.

Oliver is a Hawke’s Bay local who has been part of the Alchemy Plumbing & Gas team since the very beginning and is very much part of the wider Alchemy family. As an apprentice working across plumbing, gasfitting, and drainlaying, he’s gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of the trade while building a strong foundation for his career.

Always happy and a bright spark on site, Oliver approaches every task with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. He’s a valued member of the team who enjoys getting stuck in and developing his skills alongside the crew. Outside of work, he has a keen interest in fishing and geology, making the most of the great outdoors around Hawke’s Bay.
